About the role:
Join Selwyn District Council's Information Management team and take ownership of how we manage one of our most critical assets, our information. As a fast-growing district with an increasingly complex digital environment, we need a specialist who can move us beyond reactive compliance and into proactive, risk-based governance.
Sitting within the Digital team and reporting to the Information Manager, this is a hands-on, high-impact role. - Identify and implement process improvements that reduce manual effort and lower information risk

- Collaborate with ICT, Legal, Risk and business leaders to embed governance into systems, projects and service design
About you:
You're a seasoned information management professional who knows your way around the Public Records Act and doesn't just chase compliance instead making it practical and meaningful. You bring credibility with business units, a knack for simplifying complexity, and a genuine commitment to lifting the bar on how organisations care for their information.
You will also have:
- 5+ years' experience in information management, records management or information governance
- Proven track record advising business units on IM obligations and best practice
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Information Management, Records Management/Archives, Information Studies or Public Administration
