About the role:
We're looking for a Finance Administrator to join our Building, Planning and Regulatory (BPR) Finance team. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong customer service experience who's looking to build their career in finance.
You'll play a key role supporting a range of teams across Council, providing both financial administration and customer-focused support. No two days are the same — from processing transactions to helping customers and maintaining accurate records.
Key responsibilities include:
- Raising purchase orders and processing refunds
- Invoicing and managing cash receipts
- Supporting debtor management and reconciliations
- Maintaining customer databases and electronic records
- Responding to customer enquiries (phone, email and in person)
- Providing administrative support across the team
About you:
We're open to candidates who may not have direct finance experience — what matters most is your attitude, reliability, and attention to detail.
You'll bring:
- Proven customer service experience and confidence dealing with a wide range of people
- Around 2-3 years' work experience in an office or customer-facing role
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Good communication skills (both written and verbal)
- The ability to stay organised and manage multiple tasks
- A positive, team-focused approach and willingness to learn
It would be a bonus if you have:
