Programme Delivery Assistant
About the role
The Programme Delivery Assistant plays a critical role in the Arts, Culture, and Lifelong Learning (ACLL) Team, ensuring that our library programmes and experiences meet the needs of our communities. You will be working with the ACLL whānau who are committed to serving Selwyn communities and making a difference across its Selwyn Libraries network and at Te Ara Ātea. Our team have diverse backgrounds and bring themselves, their interests, and passion to their mahi.
This full-time role is primarily based at Te Ara Ātea in Rolleston, and involves a mix of library programme coordination, resourcing, and promotion, programme delivery for all ages, and customer service. This opportunity is a great chance for someone already working in libraries to step up into a new role, or someone wanting to make a change to a new career.
With our team you'll have the opportunity to help deliver one of the most dynamic public library services in Aotearoa alongside a team of talented professionals who are passionate about what they do. We support and encourage training and development for all of our staff.
This role is 40 hours per week, as follows;
- Sunday - 8.30am - 5.00pm.
- Monday - 8.30am - 5.00pm
- Tuesday - 8.30am - 5.00pm
- Wednesday - 8.30am - 5.00pm
- Thursday - 11.45am - 8.15pm
About you
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be flexible, demonstrate a willingness to learn, a positive can-do approach, and a good understanding of Te Ao Māori and a demonstrated commitment to upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Alongside this you will:
- Provide amazing customer service
- Work well in a team
- Enjoy relating to community members of all ages and backgrounds and create welcoming spaces for everyone
- Balance a varied workload where no two days are the same, juggling different pieces of work and priorities throughout the day
- Be confident speaking in front of groups of people and working with groups
- Able to work with a variety of technology and willing to learn and assist others to learn
- Be well-organised and able to meet deadlines
- Have a minimum of two years in a customer service, learning, library, arts, or similar environments
