About the role

An exciting opportunity for experienced Project Managers to join our Capital Works Team. Focusing on all aspects of Capital Works Delivery for the Infrastructure and Property team, we seek Project Management professionals with strong backgrounds in Parks & Reserves; Facilities, Building and/or Civil Infrastructure.

As part of the Capital Works Team, you will bring your project management experience, knowledge, and skills to ensure Capital projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality and safety standards.

The key responsibility of this role is to ensure that project delivery meets Councils expectations, the relevant legislation and responsible for ensuring that the project management components meet the appropriate standards.

  • Ensure project delivery is achieved in line with Council priorities, to the budgets allocated, encompass sustainability and Lead projects through to completion.
  • Delivering projects in line with Council priorities and with a strong emphasis on sustainability, public usability, and community benefit.
  • Ensuring infrastructure and service delivery outcomes meet the expectations of our community, mana whenua, stakeholders, and operational teams.
  • Use project management methodologies and multistakeholder management to deliver projects.
  • Ensure practical completion inspections are undertaken and defects corrected or remedied over the defects and maintenance periods.

All whilst promoting safe work practices and ensuring a safe working environment.

About you

You will be a proactive and solutions-focused professional, skilled in aligning outcomes with best practices. Adept at fostering collaboration and building strong, trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders through clear and effective communication.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Extensive experience (5+ years) project management experience in Parks & Reserves; Facilities, Building and/or Civil Infrastructure
  • Demonstrable project, programme, financial, quality, procurement and contract management experience in the delivery of large and small projects effectively and efficiently.
  • Management of consultant and contractors on multi-disciplinary projects
  • High level of digital literacy, including Word, Excel, Microsoft project and other project management systems.
  • Tertiary Qualification in relevant disciplines of Engineering, Construction, Environmental Management Landscape Architecture.
