Waste and Sustainability Educator
About the role:
In this role you'll have the perfect opportunity to combine your educating experience with your passion for sustainability, the environment and waste minimisation at our purpose built education centre! Deliver engaging education to schools, businesses and community groups across Selwyn, encouraging community participation and interest
- As an experienced educator you will develop, plan, organise and deliver tours and informative sessions
- Confident and energetic you are comfortable presenting to a wide range of audiences and can adapt your content and style accordingly
- Develop and gather appropriate education resources for the centre to encourage community engagement and participation
- Manage the programme calendar and event bookings for the ReDiscover education centre
- Incorporate kaitiakitanga (guardianship of the environment) and Te Ao Turoa - the intergenerational concept of resource sustainability.
About you:
As an experienced educator you will develop, plan, organise and deliver tours and informative sessions, with each experience catered to the particular groups' needs. Confident and energetic you are comfortable presenting to a wide range of audiences and can adapt your content and style accordingly. You will also have:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in education/teaching/programme delivery
- Demonstrable ability to relate well to people of all age groups and learning abilities, including understanding and adapting to individual learning styles
- Learning and growth mindset
- High level of digital literacy
- Excellent communication skills
