About the role:
The Strategic Relationships Manager is a new and innovative role at Selwyn District Council with a focus on managing key stakeholders' development journey through Council. As the Strategic Relationships Manager, you will enable our strategic partners to unlock their economic and social potential to improve amenity, employment, and economic outcomes for Selwyn. Reporting to the Executive Director Development and Growth you'll be the key contact into the Council for our partners, focusing on improving and maintaining relationships. You'll have the ability to smooth the way for complex applications, and to ensure an aligned approach across Council.
Key responsibilities:
- Build, manage, and improve key relationships.
- Identify opportunities for collaboration and development.
- Be the point of contact to effectively deal with any issues if they arise.
- Be over any customer's involvement in the building and resource consent processes (probably expand this to all Council service)
- Provide feedback and implement business improvements to assist in improving service delivery.
About you:
You'll demonstrate the ability to successfully lead organisational and culture change initiatives in a complex environment. You'll be a confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levels, both internally and externally. Experience in relationship management is pivotal to success in this role.
You will also have:
- The ability to quickly build a great rapport with people.
- A good grounding in Resource Consent and Building Consent process.
- Able to look for solutions in technically difficult situations.
- Manage a large number of relationships and their interactions with Council.
- To ensure collaboration across the council to achieve alignment of approach.
