Payroll Specialist
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist, to support the timely and accurate delivery of our end-to-end payroll function working across both fortnightly and monthly pay runs for 650+ employees.
This role is busy and varied and will include opportunity to review our current systems and processes to ensure our growing business is future fit, to support the fastest growing district in New Zealand.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations
- Maintain employee records and respond to payroll enquiries
- Maintain payroll process documentation, including standard operating procedures and user guides, and to identify and implement any process improvement opportunities
- Shared mailbox management
- Assist with audits and reporting
About you:
We are looking for a motivated team player who approaches tasks and challenges in a positive and energetic manner.
You'll bring with you 3-5+ years payroll experience, and a strong overall knowledge of payroll procedures and legislation including Income Tax and the Holidays Act. You will be proficient in payroll systems and integrated time and attendance systems, ideally Datapay and Biotime or similar.
You will also:
- Enjoy process and system improvement
- Can maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
- Have excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Have strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Have advanced communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to interpret and relay complex information clearly
- Have knowledge and understanding of both Individual and Collective Employment Agreement
