About us

The Reserves team are responsible for managing the operations, maintenance and upkeep of Selwyn District Council's Parks and Reserves. This includes Community parks, township reserves, recreational reserves, cemeteries, playgrounds, sports areas, and other open spaces

About the role

Reporting to the Reserves Operations Manager, the Reserve Contract Lead is to ensure all work delivered through the District Parks & Reserves Contract meets the specifications and required level of service.

  • Day-to-day management of the District's Reserves Operations Contract.
  • Strong emphasis on contract management, stakeholder relationships and reporting.
  • Collaborative approach working in partnership with our business partners and stakeholders.
  • Ensure our open spaces meet customer expectations.
  • Working closely with the Reserves Operations Teams.
  • Actively work alongside our business partners to exceed Health & Safety expectations and Council policies and procedures.

About You

To be successful in this role the right candidate must possess the following skills and experience.

  • At least 5 years' experience in the management of Parks/Reserves in an operational capacity
  • Demonstratable experience with NZS3910/17 conditions of contract
  • Sound knowledge of parks or grounds maintenance services industry best practice
  • Experience working in a local government environment, budget preparation, management, and reporting experience.
  • Proven ability in leading teams to achieve organisational goals/objectives within a values-based framework.
  • Strong understanding of digital ways of working, with experience of using technology to achieve effective outcomes.
