Community Funding Administrator

About the role:

As a dynamic member of our Community and Economic Development Team, the Community Funding Administrator will be at the heart of our community initiatives, offering a role designed with flexibility in mind. This position provides hands-on support, including organising meetings and workshops, assisting with the Funding Assessment Panel's activities, and enhancing our digital presence through website updates and engaging newsletters. With a keen eye for detail, you will oversee budget management and provide essential administrative support to key advisors, driving our mission forward with efficiency and enthusiasm.

This role offers 24 hours per week on a 12-month fixed-term contract, making it an ideal opportunity for someone looking to enhance their administration skills while enjoying a flexible schedule that accommodates home life or school drop-offs and pick-ups.

Key responsibilities:

  • Maintain databases, record-keeping and files in accordance with Council policy and practices.
  • Prepare agendas and minutes.
  • Update the Funding content on the Council website as needed.
  • Coordinate content and prepare monthly newsletters.
  • Monitor budgets, prepare regular updates, reconciliations and projections.
  • Process payments for grants and contractors, including setting up new creditors, raising purchase orders, and handling other payment-related tasks.
  • Book venues and vehicles for meetings and workshops.
  • Coordinate and assist with all practical aspects of meetings and workshops to ensure everything is well planned, including the availability and organisation of equipment and materials as required.
  • Coordinates the availability of attendees for meetings and workshops.
  • Tracks agreed milestones in contracts for services and funding agreements.

About you:

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is passionate about fostering community growth, has excellent organisational and administration skills and is eager to gain some valuable experience.

You will also have:

  • Solid experience in administration and digital literacy
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and record keeping
  • Sound problem solving skills
  • Ability to work as part of a fast paced team
