Exciting opportunity to be part of Te Ara Ātea

Are you experienced in libraries, galleries or museums and looking to step up into a day to day leadership role?

We are ready to appoint an outstanding professional to help us move Rolleston Library across to the new 2,200m2 Te Ara Ātea, our new cultural centre which will open in late Spring this year. You will ensure the smooth day-to-day running of Te Ara Ātea, providing day to day leadership and support to your colleagues in customer service, digital literacy programming.

This role sits within Selwyn Council's Arts, Culture and Lifelong Learning (ACLL) team and provides an incredible opportunity for a talented library assistant looking to further develop their career and gain leadership experience in public libraries. Our ideal candidate will understand the importance of public libraries, arts, and cultural experiences within local communities and be ready to take the next in their career, providing day to day leadership in a busy community space.

ACLL - which looks after libraries (including the Edge Connector vehicle service and Digital Library), service centres (Council services and information), arts, culture and lifelong learning programmes - is busy developing services and delivering programmes to meet the expectations of the rapidly growing Selwyn population.

This position is 40 hours per week to be worked Tuesday to Saturday 8:30 am to 5 pm.
