We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Officer to join our knowledgeable Revenue Team in the New Year.

Our offices are based in the growing town of Rolleston which offers a great family lifestyle and is an easy drive away from the ski fields, rivers and hills that make up Canterbury's stunning landscape.

As a Finance Officer at Selwyn District Council you will be involved in a range of tasks that include maintaining the rates database, collecting rates, raising debtor invoices, and processing bank transactions whilst providing accurate and friendly service to our customers, both internal and external.

You will be able to confidently communicate with rate payers while remaining confidential at all times, and have the ability to follow effective and timely debt collection procedures.

To be successful in this role you will have a positive attitude to your work and the diversity of people around you. You will be comfortable using initiative, taking a holistic approach to problem solving and have excellent time management, planning and organisational skills.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' experience in accounts receivable and whilst not essential, exposure to Local Government policy and processes would be advantageous.
